Brand consultant by day, artist by night.

Firstly, I’d like to thank you for taking the time to visit my website and learn more about my work. It means so much. This is the first time I’m presenting to the world what was, for many years, an intimate hobby of mine. Painting has preoccupied much of my time over the years—a wonderful escape from the chaos of life.

I have an arts background. In 2014, I graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a degree in History of Art. I loved the department so much that I completed my postgraduate degree there too. My research focused on the critically-neglected dimensions of artists’ work, and much of my writing fixated on art’s materiality.

After graduation, I explored various creative pursuits in numerous industries. Some opportunities led me to the Middle East, whilst some rooted me in Edinburgh (where I’m from and the city I currently live in). In 2017, I set up brand consultancy. As a brand consultant, I use my perfectionist skills, trained eye and software proficiency to create relevant, meaningful work for my clients.

In contrast to the rigidity of my job, I feel completely free when I paint. I’m very lucky that, even as a young girl, my desire to explore and express myself was never squandered.

I always find myself making a beeline for paintings in a museum. Paintings have this extraordinary ability to transform not only our homes, but our moods too. They anchor the spaces we occupy, providing a comforting familiarly each time our eyes meet them. I began painting to replicate this visceral experience at home.

I often struggled to find art that suited my home’s interior design scheme. I began working with water-based, household paint in order to colour-match my paintings to the spaces my artwork would hang. I quickly fell in love with the medium. Not to mention the abundance of ready-mixed shades, water-based household has a wonderful viscosity that can be used as-is or diluted further to grant freer forms of expression.
