This painting is my first of the summer! I used three summertime shades—a creamy neutral, a green-grey and an orange-red. The latter reminds me of Etruscan pottery. Inspired by the warmth of the sun, these tones combine to create my most neutral, minimal painting to-date.

I challenged myself to minimise the use of brushstrokes. Instead, I used my palette knife and a rolling sponge to add lots of texture. I’m particularly fond of how the paint bubbled on the canvas.

I created this painting for my third Instagram Reel; view it here.
